The year 2008 marks the 500th anniversary of the birth of Primož Trubar (1508–1586), a Protestant reformer and the consolidator of the Slovenian literary language.

Therefore the Government of the Republic of Slovenia decided at its session in November 2007 to declare 2008 the Year of Primož Trubar. The working committee for honouring the 500th anniversary of the birth of Primož Trubar, which is part of the Coordinating Committee for State Celebrations, has published a booklet on this occasion.

In addition to an overview of events, the booklet offers a general selection of visual material and describes the life and work of Primož Trubar. The events calendar will be updated regularly on this web site.
