June 18th – August 3rd, 2008 Ljubljana castle, Kazemate
Opening of the exhibition on Wednesday, June 18th at 19.00.
The interactive installation about re-examination and intertwinment of birth, religion, death and fiction takes as its starting point the fifth centenary of the birth of Primož Trubar. The authors understand this anniversary as an opportunity to investigate the contemporary meaning of his person and his work through artistic means. The project also questions the process of the formation and writing of history, as this same history defines our present. Through the project we notice the idea of the existence of Primož Trubar as an inspirative moment, manifested in the contemporary society as the perspective of a copy. A copy here being understood as the basic element of today's informational economy, in which again the freedom of expression is threatened. The installation thrives to include the visitor in questioning the borders between the real and the fictional in regard to history.
