The symposium is organised with a view to giving consideration to fundamental existential questions pertaining to nations and linguistic communities in the past, present and future. This means that the scientific meeting will have a historical as well as current dimension. Considering the experience of different communities, it aims to discuss visions that had an impact on the survival and development strategies of individual nations. Questions preoccupying Primož Trubar at the dawn of the new era are of a permanent nature and
without geographical boundaries. Twenty-eight scientists will take part in the symposium.
